Almost every disappointing first cleaning we hear about comes down to the same thing: somebody booked a regular clean for a home that needed a deep clean. The crew did exactly what was booked, the client looked at the shower glass afterwards and felt short-changed, and everybody lost.
So it is worth being blunt about the difference. A regular clean maintains a home that is already in reasonable shape. Kitchen surfaces, appliance exteriors, sink; bathrooms scrubbed; floors vacuumed and mopped; surfaces dusted top down; trash out. It is built around a time budget, and that budget assumes it is not starting from months of accumulation.
A deep clean is everything in that list plus the work a regular visit has no time for. Inside the oven and inside the refrigerator. Baseboards and door frames wiped by hand rather than passed with a mop. Grout scrubbed instead of mopped over. Hard-water buildup taken off shower glass, faucets and fixtures. Vents, ceiling fan blades, light fixtures, switch plates. Window sills and tracks. Behind and under whatever moves safely.
The honest test is simple: look at the parts of your home that never get touched. Run a finger along the top edge of a door frame. Look at the corner where the shower glass meets the frame. Open the oven. Pull out the refrigerator's bottom drawer. If those look like they have been waiting a while, a regular clean will not reach them — not because the crew is cutting corners, but because that work is measured in hours, not minutes.
In Las Vegas there is a second factor that pushes homes toward a deep clean faster than in most places, and it is the desert itself. Fine dust rides in through every door and settles on flat surfaces within days: blinds, sills, vents, the tops of cabinets and picture frames. And the water here is hard enough that mineral deposits etch shower glass and cloud chrome within months if nothing takes them off. Neither of those is a housekeeping failure; it is just what happens here.
Hard water in particular deserves attention, because it is the one thing people most often assume is permanent damage. Cloudy glass and a chalky white line around a faucet are usually mineral scale sitting on the surface, not etching in it — and scale comes off with the right product and genuine dwell time. That dwell time is exactly what a regular visit does not have.
The pattern that works best for most homes is straightforward: one deep clean to establish the baseline, then a recurring regular clean to hold it. Weekly if the house is busy, every other week for most, monthly if it is just you and it stays tidy. Starting a recurring plan without that first deep clean means the crew spends three or four visits slowly catching up, and you spend three or four visits wondering when it will look right.
One-off deep cleans on their own are worth booking too — before hosting, at the change of a season, or after a stretch where nobody had time. There is no obligation to sign up for anything recurring afterwards.
